Sustain the Heart of Our Community: A Campaign to Support Didsbury Masjid
Organized By:Manchester Islamic Center
"The most beloved lands on earth are the lands of Masjid
The Masjid is not just a building; it is the spiritual heart of our community. It is where we pray, learn, and gather in unity. As the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, “The most beloved of places to Allah are its mosques.” (Sahih Muslim). For a place so beloved by Allah, it is our collective duty to ensure it remains a welcoming, clean, and secure sanctuary for everyone.
To keep Didsbury Masjid open for up to 16 hours a day, seven days a week, we must provide a safe and comfortable environment for prayer and community activities. This requires constant maintenance and a dedicated team. To fulfill these duties, we need your continuous support.
The Rewards of Supporting the Masjid
Supporting a mosque is a powerful act of worship with immense rewards, as mentioned in both the Quran and Hadith.
A House in Paradise: The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: “Whoever builds a masjid for Allah, Allah will build for him a house in Paradise.” (Sahih Al-Bukhari and Muslim). This promise applies not only to building a new mosque but also to contributing to its upkeep and maintenance. Your donations are a means of building a home for yourself in the Hereafter. (حديث: "من بنى مسجدا لله، بنى الله له بيتا في الجنة")
The Reward Multiplied: Allah says in the Holy Quran: “The example of those who spend their wealth in the way of Allah is like a seed of grain which grows seven spikes; in each spike is one hundred grains. And Allah multiplies [His reward] for whom He wills. And Allah is all-Encompassing and Knowing.” (Quran, 2:261). Your contributions, big or small, are a direct investment with Allah, and He will multiply the reward far beyond our imagination.
An Ongoing Charity (Sadaqah Jariyah): The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: “When a man dies, all his deeds come to an end except for three: an ongoing charity, beneficial knowledge, or a righteous son who prays for him.” (Sahih Muslim). By contributing to the running costs of the masjid, every prayer offered, every letter of the Quran recited, and every lesson taught within its walls becomes a source of ongoing reward for you, even after you have passed on. (حديث: "إذا مات الإنسان انقطع عنه عمله إلا من ثلاثة: إلا من صدقة جارية، أو علم ينتفع به، أو ولد صالح يدعو له")
